PastorBob.......remember that pic of your peanut butter birthday cake........I still do. We need our chaplain back. Besides, without your levelheadedness, people like me are clouding the atmosphere here. Seriously, PB, it would be good to have your voice back in the 50Plus peanut gallery.

Yes, I've heard that:) I bet she disliked her curly mop as much as I did mine. I even tried ironing it as a teenager but that didn't work out:eek:

I PM'ed him a while ago to wish him a good upcoming biking season after seeing a post in the Classic and Vintage group. He is alive and well and posts over there on occassion.

Yep, that's where you'll find him these days... on the Classic & Vintage Forum.

I don't blame him.....I consider myself a classic and certainly I'm vintage of some sort...not just another run-of-the-mill olde pharte with graying goatee; maybe I should check 'em out.

Last I heard, PastorBob was still only 48 years old. Perhaps he is off aging and mellowing a bit more before rejoining us.

I believe he was upset by some of the possibly sexist/raunchy remarks posted herein.

Lately, I have been too.

I guess under the right mind set and imagination a golf ball is a "possible sexist/raunchy" obiect.

Once in a lifetime find, Bob. Congratulations.

If you're as persistent with your research as you have been with your dump visits, you'll eventually have all the info you need for a possible restoration. Keep us posted.

I vaguely recall Pastor Bob getting caught up in one of my mega-anti-christian rants. Soon after he was gone. Perhaps I offended him? Quite likely, I'm afraid. Will I behave better in the future? Umm, no. bk

Perhaps it's a function of some middle-aged guys to find some desperate pride in being crusty, skeptical, and tough-skinned...a kind of Bogart-like thing. In-your-face and, if you don't like it, tough shot to you. Such a hard boiled tone often boils down to just plain rude. A kind of full circle back to junior high school. Well, it takes all kinds I suppose.

Personally, I think I'll go stand on PastorBob's side where one doesn't have to prove anything. It's like masculinity: if you have to worry whether you've got it, you probably haven't got it.

Good to hear from you, PB. It's amazing that you could find something like that at a dump. It's almost a shame that it has so much value as a collectable. It would be really cool to see something like that restored to a usable condition.

He wasn't the only one offended by your anti-Christian ranting. Rather than leave though I chose to ignore you. I am still in PB's camp :D

Thanks for touching base PB!! Good luck with the terrific find there. Fortunately I think I've missed the raunchy, sexist stuff anti-Christian rants along the way. For me, I'll stick to the cycling and somewhat related topics......

Well, I'm as crusty and, maybe anti-christian, as they come but then I hate everyone as a group while accepting them as individuals. That, and here's a time and a place for everything. For me, PastorBob has always -in my short time here- been A-1 in my book as a human being. Glad to hear all is well. You are wlecome back whenever you choose. I'll be here. For whatever that's worth.

For a pastor most any offering is good.... Where two or three are gathered, take a collection.

I too have missed the nasty stuff, been to busy with many other things including cycling to even get on the web much lately. Good to see many familiar faces(names) still around.

I shouldn't think so. Pastors, Preachers, Friars, Fathers, Cardinals, and other men of the cloth are supposed to hang with the riff raff and help get us straightened out by good example and other means aren't they? A few words on the internet running off a good man like Pastor Bob? Not likely. At least I hope not.

I sense this is not true, grasshoppa. Anyone who loves puppies, small children, and/or Reno's has a spark of the Divine lurking somewhere in their soul.
