I would like to point out a completely obvious fact that I reinforced today.
Even if you can ride 100 miles a day on a bike a 13.5 mile marathon sucks. Riding a bike does not help the muscle groups used when running or walking IMHO.

Should have trained.
It was nice seeing colfax without any cars on it. :)
Too bad the cyclists escorting the wheelchairs made it almost unbearable. :p

Now if I can regain my ability to walk.

You did the half marathon?? Congrats :) Thats awesome!!!

I rode Deer Creek to Conifer and back. :) It was hard and more climbing then I thought :) But good ride over all.

Go rest now Data have some ice cream you deserve it :)

Yes, cross-training is essential. Running and cycling have very little in common. You'd figure using your legs is using your legs, but it doesn't work like that.

Personally, I just never, ever run. I'm still a clyde and my knees love cycling but loathe running.

Ha! Ha! One of those was me! At least this year I finished before noon. Last year I escorted someone who took 6 hours to do the 26 miles. Bike shoe suck for walking...even mountain bike ones;)

Just to make sure you don't feel too bad, I got up at 3 a.m. to be out in Aurora for the 6 a.m. start. (I rode out there and rode home...56 miles)

LOL!
Dang you! :p

I woke up at 3:30 am and drove a rental car to city park. Too dang early.

Strangely enough I enjoyed it. I am pondering looking into running another a couple months down the road and training before it. Just need to find one. Plus, I would like to ride an organzied cycling event. Fortunately, the amount of literature I have from the expo should give me an idea.

Those ladies and gentlemen in the wheelchairs were awesome. I couldn't imagine using my arms like that.

I was riding through City Park by about 3:30. I'm amazed at the number of people out and about at that time of the morning. More than you'd think.
