Foo - Margaritas for Dummies

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
The wife went to a pool party Friday and came home with a new margarita recipe.
In a pitcher
1 can frozen limeade concentrate
1 limeade can of tequila
1 limeade can of Sprite
1 beer any kind (I opted for Tecate)
Stir and serve over ice.
Makes a full pitcher of margaritas and they are surprisinly good.

Sounds delish!!
Is delish and works well to achieve a nice mellow feeling after only drinking two of them. Would have gone for three but ran out of tequila.

yeah, keep drinking those and you will end up looking like Britney Spears and Sinead Oconnor alright. Or Pantini. BTW is it just me or is it funny that his name sound like Panteen and they used hot models in their ads? Could be a few too many margaritas for dummies?

That's the lazy Texan recipe. Also known as the June-September version.
obodynaye alktaye otay egaVixenVaye or yclemagicCaye!!!!
The recipe was given to someone at the party by a bartender who says lots of restaurants use it. And it tasted just like a restaurant rocks margarita. It is worthy trying at your next party if for nothing other than the novelty factor of a margarita with a beer in it.

Just buy this. Doesn't get any easier.

Ya'll are missing the point. Anyone can pour a margarita straight from the bottle. Imagine whipping up a pitcher of margaritas using limeade concentrate, beer and sprite and of course tequila. It is a novelty party trick with a payoff.

oh, no, don't pull the "ya'll" out on this one, you can't Texanize fake-ritas, boy!
I really am disapointed, a "texan" making a margarita without hot sauce? Damn.
I reckon I can say ya'll whenever I please ma'am. Can I interest ya'll in a margarita? I'm fixin to make another pitcher directly.

Perhaps, but it is not a Margarita. Actually sounds like a kiddie version of the real thing, yes much like what most bars serve.

2 parts 100% agave tequila
+ 1 part Contreau
+ Juice of 1 lime
+ Ice
+ Salt (optional)
= best margarita recipe I've tried.

Yep. That's a margarita. A bit heavy on the tequila, but maybe you like it that way. The high fructose corn syrup mixes are disgusting. I'm a snob about that stuff.
I usually just mix the juice of one lime with 2oz tequila and 2oz triple sec and serve over rocks. Never mind frozen margaritas. They're mostly water. Cointreau is good but it's 3 times the price of triple sec and not much different.
Yesterday I went through 5 limes. ;)
Bunch a margarita snobs round these parts! When I am drinking a beer margarita later, I am gonna moon ya'll!

Shooot. Hold on here a minute. Jsharr you are workin' way too hard. You got tooo many steps and too many ingredients. It does sound like what many places pass off as their "House 'rita". Unless your at the Don'Key.
SpiderMike's 'Rita Recipe.
Add some tequila to what Lemon-lime gatorade is left in your water bottle
:D..jj.
The real recipe is to wash down every shot of Tequila with some Lone Star or Shiner Bock while tending to some skirt steak on the pit.
^winnar. will impress my cycling friends, esp. since I ride with cuda.
might not go over to well at the weekly Friday night BYOB block party and let the kids run until they are tired enough to pass out party.

Mmmm real.
I'd just add using Anejo or Resposado is worse than a waste. Good unaged (or minimally aged) Tequila is the way to go. Aged for sipping tequilla gets burried under the Contreau and lime.

I agree- sort of like mixing a good single malt with soda (ugh...). I would add that the lime must be squeezed with one of those clamp-like squeezers (http://www.dvo.com/lime-squeezer.html), not a juicer (where you grind the cut face of the lime into a ridged thingie). The clamp squeezer gets a nice mix of the juice with the oils from the zest. Yummmms.

Cmon now.
Tequila, collins mix, lemon squeeze, salted rim and you are ready to go. I've even had it with Mountain Dew.
But mostly I like my Tequila as shooters, but I sure don't drink much anymore, maybe once a year at a dinner and only one drink.
Triple Sec sucks. :)
