Hello All

I found a pair of Rigina AL 320 rims at a garage sale, yesterday,
for 10 dollars, for the pair. They are 27x 1/18.
The metal clips on the hubs are missing, that was to be used
to grease the hubs. Does anyone know if you can still buy, them
or what a replacement, other than the clips, I could use. I'm
going to put them on a 1987 Schwinn Prelude, I got last Sat.

Not sure what you mean. My best guess is that you mean the little donut shaped dust covers that press into the hub and surround the cones. If this is what you mean, then yes they are are needed. Without them the grease will get full of crap so fast that they might be better off ungreased.

Cup and cone stuff is older technology, but I would think that if you bring the wheels into a decent bike shop they will have a decent chance of having some old ones laying around for cheap. Might take trips to a couple of shops before you find them though.

Can you describe them better?

I think he means the metal clips that cover the oil port, like old Campy Record hubs have.
And yes, it could be Rigida rims, or Regina freewheel. :p

yea that's the thing. You use to be able to, take the clip off.
use a thin tube, inject grease, there. And then the new grease
pushed out the old grease, your hub, bearing, had new grease.
It made it easy to keep your hubs, greased. And I belive, the
racers, use to just inject some kind of heavyer oil, and use that
which cut down on the the drag of the grease. This was back in
the late 60,s early 70,s.
