I start my internship as a mechanical engineer at Garmin tomorrow. I'm kind of nervous, for no real reason other than professional type people make me nervous. Tommorow will pretty much be taken up with orientation and stuff, so it's not like I have anything to do but just get used to the place. Just wanted to let you guys know. Wish me luck!

P.S.: No I won't get you a free Edge. That's only for me ;)

What will you be doing there?
I use a Garmin GPS for hunting trips, dunno the name of it but the camo matches my clothing. ;)

Not exactly sure what I'll be doing, but I'll be in mechanical engineering, so sort of designing how all the pieces and parts fit together, or something along those lines.

Professional people???

I suppose I am one of those "professional people."

Here is one secret: they fart too. And it stinks!!

So there, when you start getting nervous, think about that. Good luck. Good on ya!

Wife's an ME; Me = EE. We're a bunch of dorks.

OK, so first day impressions:

I think it's going to be a great experience. My supervisors seem like good, fun people, and I think the work is going to be far more interesting and exciting than what I did last summer (HVAC (ductwork) design = booooooring.))

The really neat part is: the two other mechanical engineering interns are both from K-State, and I had classes with them this last semester! One is even on the KSU cycling club (which I recently joined), and the other is a cyclist too!

So yeah, I am almost completely relaxed and excited after my first day. Hooray!
