OK, you don't but *I* do :D
She knows all about you guys, now, and the Tradition of Pie.
She also knows of the difficulties I've had in finding pie -acceptable or otherwise- on my qualifying rides.
She feels my pain so, taking a note from Deeg, she went out this weekend and bought a Hostess Cherry Pie for me. Should fit great in the back of my jersey! Is she a sweety or what?

That's sweet. However, if she ever goes out and buys you a Little Debbie Lemon Pie, then you know she's strictly in it for your life insurance pay-out.

All the great riders have a good back up somewhere in their team. Don't know if they all manage to find CHERRY pie though. Lucky devil.

I don't know that we have Little Debbie pies out the way. We don't have Drake's Cakes either.

It's my favorite. Heck I even eat it right out of the ground.

My Grandmother would just send us out to Polly's Pies in Santa Monica. We never got rhubarb. Too bad both are gone.

Hey! Some guys like chili that melts steel and removes paint. So I happen to like the facial contortions created from good rhubarb pie.:)

Does your wife make rhubarb pie?
Does it taste anything like persimmon pudding?
Persimmon pudding is the single best food in the world, but you can only get it for about 10 days in the early fall.
My back hurts a little.

Forget the pie- We have Rhubarb crumble and Custard- Fantastic. and as for Rhubarb Jam----- Jelly I think you call it.
Now rhubarb pie- not my favourite. Any pie or any rhubarb but not together.
Only problem is the Propulsion I get from rhubarb. But I suppose a bit of wind assistance is never bad.
Sorry about the back TWL but perhaps a Slice of Rhubard pie would help- Get it nice and hot and place on the affected area. Wrap it well though in plastic, so when it cools down- you can still eat it.

My late grandmother used to make the best rhubard cobbler. Never had any since that could compare.
And I'm in agreement with you, strawberries ruin rhubarb pie. Too sweet & mushy.
I mean, would you add Hamburger Helper to filet mignon?

Raw strawberries are great. I have a strawberry patch in my garden - raspberry & rhubarb patches too. But when cooked and mixed into rhubarb, it's a no go for me. I mean, I love spicy brown mustard and I love chocolate, but I'm not about to mix them together.

Though, by the time yours crosses the pond, I don't how interested you'll be in eating what's left of it.

No mention of gooseberry pie!! My grandmother used to make it, from a gooseberry bush in her back yard. Must have had a ton of sugar, you couldn't eat the berrys off of that bush!! And I can remember actually having "polk salad", not just remembering the song!

Here's a rhubarb pie fan!! It's hard to find. My aunt made them each year from when the rhubarb in her garden was ready. She also made a good stewed rhubarb. It just takes so much sugar to make it edible:(

Did she make you pick the rhubarb? My grandmother made the most delicious blackberry cobbler but she sent us out with our little buckets to pick them for her. Gawd, how I hated that as I just knew I was going to see at least one snake:eek:
