Im going to be buying a new bike within a week or two and am considering either a 2002 enduro comp or the new VT2. Basically either will handle the riding I do, and I equally like both bikes (I've not ridden the enduro yet). I'm just wondering if anyone has had experience with the new VT series, it seems like a tremendous deal at 1,700 bucks, my only concern is that it is a brand new model, where as the enduro design is older than time.

so here are my pros/cons:

VT 2- pros - new design, swinger shock, avid mechs, good components
cons- new design for 2003 = less real world testing, psylo XC fork isn't that great (id have the shop upgrade to at least the SL), I've also heard of complaints of odd squeeks from the frame (not a good thing from a durablility stand point).

Enduro Comp - pros - its specialized, its a proven design, good components as well, itch switch means i can adjust travel on the fly.
cons - anybody have any???

The enduro might be a better bike but I like the VT2 a lot. What am I missing here?

Though I work at a Giant shop I'd get the Enduro. My personal rides are all Specialized.

Oh by the way, my friend from that previous forum ended up getting a 2002 Enduro. The price was a no brainer. We were very lucky to find this specific model in his size. So far he is really liking the bike. The only thing he doesn't like is the fork but it still gets the job done.

PS. I did see someone on pinkbike.com selling their hardly used 2003 Enduro Pro on there for $2700CAN.

Im in ohio so shipping would probably kill any savings I would have since I can get the bike for around $1,650 US. Oh well, I'm off the the bike shop.
