Texas - Looking for someone to beat me severely

into the ground on a ride. :) I am much more motivated when I have someone else going faster than me. I can be going 21mph and feel like I'm standing still without another person as a point of reference.

Would love to attempt a cat 5 race next year and am building up to it. I ride nearly every day 25-40 miles. I work from home so I always have an open schedule.

Just looking for a training partner in the DFW. :)

Stray_Cat - as soon as the weather improves let's get another Dallas BF member ride together. I am told that I do a decent job of running other guys into the ground. ;)

try the RBM 45 miler on Saturdays and if you're riding that much don't wait till next year to race.

Come ride with the Texas wheels on Tues and Thurs out at the Joe Pool Lake Marina. After an easy 5 minutes warm-up, we're usually cruising at 25-30 on the flats....

The PBA OAS group is another group to ride with that will push you beyond your limits. I like this ride because the ride leader will not leave anyone stranded out in the middle of no where. The Wheels in Motion ride on Sunday is another good one. It starts in Richardson and does a North/South route (basically the same as the RBM n/s route). This ride is VERY close to being in a real race.

Also, like DL mentioned, don't wait until next year. Go ahead and race now so you know what you need to work on for next year. I'll be doing my first crit soon...come on out and get in the C race with me.

Let me know if you ever want to get together for a ride. I'm far from the fastest guy out there but I like to ride fast and hard.

+1 for racing this year. I was targeting the same goal as you but I have been encouraged and will ride my first crit in July, and a regional weekly points series rave at a car racetrack in 2 weeks.

There are so many group rides that you don't ever have to ride alone in this town. Many of these rides are excellent practice for races. The Tuesday night crits are not that difficult. If you can sustain 21-22 MPH in a group ride for 30 mins, then you are ready. These are good practice for road races and larger crits which can be a good bit more challenging. Hit me up I ride 4-5 days a week.

Tuesday/Thursday Popsicle (fast group) is good crash training. Ask me how I know.

Gonna take a week to put humpty back together again. Meanwhile I'm getting addicted to the track.

If the weather holds I will be at the PBA Popcicle tonight. Sat. I will be doing the Gary Glickman crit. Sun maybe the Frisco crit if I am feeling skippy. Mon the PBA memorial Day ride. Let me know if you get out this weekend.

I'll be at the Glickman tomorrow and then the State Crit Champ on Monday in Ft. Worth. Anyone going to do the Ft. Worth race?
