Can anyone recommend a simple video editing software - preferably freeware? The one by microsoft does not work on my PC. All I need to be able to do is to trim and split clips, and add a soundrack. Being able to add titles and the occasional fade is nice too.

Need to be simple for my stupid head. Suggestions?

Check out Avid's FreeDV package (http://www.avid.com/products/freedv/index.asp). Rivals professional NLE packages for free.

This screen-shot shows exactly what you're looking for. Splice together several video-clips and add soundtracks. :)

ok, tried downloading and installing AVItricks from the link posted earlier by Tom. When I try to add an avi file, I get this message:

video may not display properly. Need to download the video for windows codec with fourcc-mjpg"

I cannot find this codec. Help?
