First...You've all been quite helpful, thanks.

How can I figure out how wide of a tire I can put on a Cannondale Road Warrior 500? My wife likes the bike, but would like a tire that is a bit less of a road tire. Something more along the lines of a CX tire.

Maybe I should have asked it this way: What determines how wide a tire can be used with a given frame/fork?

Width and height as well. You need to leave some clearance for debris. It's also nice to be able to remove the wheel without having to let air out. It's your call as to what the clearance should be. It looks like the 2007 model comes with 32s.
