Sounds interesting. Can you tell me more about the route: flat, hilly, etc. We were looking to do a long ride this w/e and just may join you.

oh, crum....I noticed that the ride starts at 0800...it is about 45 mins from Hick-town; may not make that one as I am pretty lazy on Saturday mornings!

Now that's just pitiful. Can't make an 8am start 45 minutes away?

Get off that California time and get out there! :D

Most of the rides here are moderate. There will be a few climbs, but nothing that should keep home home ... unlike sleeping. ;)

yea, I figured we'd have to leave Hick-town about 0600 to get there in plenty of time to register and get set up....yawn....not sure that I'm that dedicated to the sport. :-)

I live in Belmont. It takes me 45 minutes as well. So there. :-P

heh. well, you are a rock star and are much much more dedicated to the sport than I am! I'll be all cozy in my bed, with my honey.:D (unless, he talks me into riding that early, which is always a possibility.... )

C'mon!

$20 = t-shirt, food, fun, fellowship, nice 60 mile route ... and I'll be there. I AM a rock star!!! :D Trent Reznor calls for advice all the time on how to be super-duper cool like me. I usually screen his calls though. He can be sort of a chit-chatter on the phone.

keep talking; you may just get our sorry sleepy butts down there, Sub!

Poor Trent, he'll never catch a clue, will he?

It's taken a while. He's had his ups and downs (like the time he was spotted on Price Is Right - we won't go there). But he's getting coming around.

As for you: Early morning activity does the body good. Plus, it promotes mental health as well. You feel accomplished and energetic. Like, "Wow! I did 60 miles today and I feel great! Plus, getting subs autograph made it a bonus just to get out of bed. What a day!" :D

How was the ride, Sub? We ended up doing a 53 miler in Burke County, leaving from Morganton and around Lake James. It was probably the most beautiful ride I've ever done. I hate that I didn't bring my camera! I will the next time, though.

Great ride!
Me and two of my good friends finished it first together. We had a blast!! The course was awesome. Some of the roads they chose were spectacular. We went across a wooden bridge, about 50 yards of gravel at one point, and tons of back roads that were freshly paved.

The guys who marked the course left me a note on mile 40 to wait for everyone else. :D It made my day.

Oh, that is cute! You must have felt like you were in the tour DAY france, with all the pavement markings! Sounds like you had a awesome ride; well worth the getting up at oh-dark-thirty,eh?

It was worth it. I felt at home with my crew. And a lot of guys showed up who haven't ridden with us in a while.

Hey, it sounds like you had fun as well. I'm glad you went.

I am glad I went as well! It was a pretty tough ride, but so beautiful it was worth it.
You coming up for Murray's Mill in June?

Tough means fun, right?

I've got a 3 day/300 mile event planned for the beginning of June. I haven't look beyond that.
