In the main PNW forum, there has been some interest expressed in arranging a ride for the Snohomish county/NE King County riders. I suggested an inaugural ride on the Centennial Trail.

If you are interested, please post to this thread or contact me directly at millcreek.cycling@gmail.com. Now that the weather is finally turning nice, perhaps we can log some miles!

We can always do this route, one of my favorites: http://www.toporoute.com/cgi-bin/getSavedRoute.cgi?routeKey=DBFCFFKAVNLSUTX for 31 miles.

If we link it with the centenial trail to arlington it comes to 71 miles.

Hi Millcreek, I would be up for the ride depending on my work schedule which has been extreamly busy and why I haven't posted here in about 3 months.

Woodinville Guy, I love the highbridge route and have done it many times. I think that would be an excellent choice.

Yes, that's a nice route, and I would be up for it. Although, I am in Hawaii over the long weekend, so maybe the following weekend?

I would be coming from Everett - any suggestions for the starting point?

So are we looking at the June 2-3 weekend, then?

That would be fine by me although I'll be hurting at the end of 71 miles.

There is a little dirt parking lot at woodinville-duvall road and snoqualime road. That is where most start. How about Saturday the 2nd around 7am?

MillCreek

Well, nothing says that the first ride has to be some sort of death march. We could do the Centennial Trail, or Snohomish-Lowell-Ebey Island, etc.

Whatever people are up for :-)

Same here. MC, as the thread starter why don't you decide.

What about this route: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Snohomish-Lake-Roesiger-Loop

Looks reasonable. Depending on the time, I might start at the lower location and meet up at the start.

MillCreek

What about an 0900 start time? Too early, too late, or just right? Since I will likely have other commitments on that day, I would like to finish up no later than the early afternoon.

I can even go earlier :-) I normally start my ride at 6:30 or 7:00.

That's a great route. I would be up for 7:00

0700 would be peachy by me as well. I will cross-post the details in the PNW forum to see if others would be interested.

Spot on. I am a middle-aged white male with a goatee and glasses, and will be riding an orange Indy Fab road bike and will no doubt be wearing something fluorescent. Look for me.

I am for anything that gets people on the self powered two wheels but Millcreeks ride seems like a lot of effort to do that. Today I was on a 43 mile ride that went through Millcreek and other areas with six others (3male and 3 female) and did it by just showing up at a BIKES club of Snohomish County ride. These are listed on www.bikesclub.org.

I am a Bikes club member, and I referenced our club in the PNW 'Log in here' thread. Most of the Bikes club rides are at a social pace of about ten miles per hour which is more leisurely than I prefer. My wife and I went for a faster ride on the Sammamish River trail this morning instead.

I have good intentions of joining in at 7, although I'll be riding from Mukilteo. I'll be the tall guy on a red Specialized Roubaix, white hat and sunglasses. Looking forward to the great weather.

I will be there with bells on. Right at the gates at the south trailhead.

I'm not sure of the south trailhead. Is that between Maple & pine on 2nd?

MillCreek

Actually, it is at the intersection of Pine and Maple. Right where the railroad tracks end and the paved trail begins. There are two white metal gates there to prevent motorized traffic from driving onto the path. That is where I will be.

The best part was I stopped for about 20 minutes there at the end and watched the para-trikes taking off. I wonder how much one of those cost.

Thanks for setting up the ride. I'll upload pictures the pictures on Monday. I ended up riding until just about 2pm for a total of 110 miles. Whew I was tired, I hit the wall around the 70 mile mark, then felt better at 90 miles after a hotdog and gatorade :-)

Had to work overtime saturday :( Sunday mt brother and I did Everett to Arlington via Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Granite Falls, And Marysville. What a beautiful day for a ride.

OK, here are the pictures from the ride. Only 4 of them.

These were all taken on a small climb that Daveyboy was changing a flat on. In my self pic you see him way off in the background in blue.

Memo to self: the next time I do a group ride with hills, bring the bike with a front triple, like everyone else. No wonder they were passing me on the hills. Or maybe it was because I was the geezer of the group.

Nice pictures Dave. I think hitting 43 on that decent at Lk Roesiger was the highlight. :)

I agree, the descent around Lake Roesiger was a good one. This will be one of my regular rides. I'm thinking of a ride on Whidbey Island this saturday if anyone's interested. Something like Clinton to Fort Casey to Oak Harbour and back. Should be about 75 miles or so.

I can't this weekend, I'm camping but I'm also sucking up to my wife. She was kinda PO'd about how long I was out though....

I am right by Centennial trail so I would be up for a weekend ride. For a tough climb there is the hill on three lakes road (about 600 feet). I usually hit 45+ on the way back down.
