The rain finally ended in Georgia and I got a chance to test my new Voler bib shorts that arrived on Monday. All I can say is WOW!!!
They are so comfortable I thought I was riding naked. :eek: No elastic waistband or drawstring to cause discomfort. The chamois and straps over the shoulder were subtle reminders that I was indeed wearing cycling shorts and didn't have to worry about the police arresting me. :rolleyes:
I think I rode faster too. :D
Here's my new rating chart.
REI, Nashbar, other "cheap" shorts = 3.0 - 5.0
Pearl Izumi shorts = 5.0 - 6.0 depending on style
Voler shorts = 8.5
Voler bib shorts = 9.5
naked = 10 :eek:
Voler (http://www.voler.com) has their shorts and bibs on sale. My bibs were $44.95.
Maybe I'll try the more expensive brands when (if :( ) I get another job, but for now I'm VERY HAPPY.
Long live bibs. :beer:
