Road Cycling - Curious Sighting

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was watching OLN the other night and there was a great story on Greg Lemond. There was some coverage of him in a time trial and on an extreme close-up....there it was.....a tiny sticker......Huffy! :D
Yes, ther WAS once a Team Huffy. I can assure you that those bikes were NOT the piles of cr@p which they used to make in Celina, Ohio.

Those bikes with the Huffy logo (as a joke really) were really made

Before huffy was huffy, werent they known has Huffman? (or something on thoes lines...)
IIRC Huffman (pre-huffy) bikes were top quality, however very few were produced. Anyone have info on this? Maybe its time for me to do some homework :)

First time contributor: There is a very good article in the History section of "First Flight Bikes" regarding the Davis/Dayton/Huffman/Huffy connection. The existance of this article was brought to my attention by David Coulon Burns (dcb1995) after looking at a picture of my wifes 1949 Dayton. The URL for "First Flight is:
