I salvaged an AW hub that was spaced for 120mm; it was on a 1980s Columbia bicycle. Since it was spaced for 120mm, it came with the longer axle available from S-A.

I plan to use it on my Raleigh sports which has the narrower 114mm spacing and normally uses the shorter axle available from S-A. I have removed some of the spacer washers to get the OLD down to 114mm, but I will now have an axle that sticks out further from the frame dropout than normal. Does anyone see a problem with this in terms of attaching the indicator spindle, i.e. the little chain? Thanks.

No problemo.
