hi i own a specialized hardrock sport and the bike has been great for a few years but now i want to either get a better new bike or to upgrade this bike. if i upgrade then i have about $800 to pour into the bike, or i can sell this bike for about $200 and will have about $1000 for a new bike. which should i do?
i was thinking of getting a new fork, disk brakes and a better gear system but i dont know if i should just save myself the hassle and go for the new bike. any suggestion would be appreciated and also if you can suggest what parts to get or what bike. thnx

heres a link to my current bike http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?arc=2004&spid=21166

I'd suggest the Rockhopper Comp disc @ $880 or the Pro Disc version @ $1100.

Your money will go farther by buying a complete bike, if you are looking at replacing most of the components, a new bike is the way to go. The Rockhoppers are good bikes for the money and most of their components are upgrades over the Hardrock. If you can tolerate the Hardrock for a while longer and save up another $400 you could step up to the Stumpjumper!
