I have been looking for a new Shimano Octalink 22mm Pipe Spindle Cartridge Bottom Brackets
BB-6500 Ultegra quality level. I cannot find one anywhere. They are backordered at Harris Cyclery and Performance. Amy inside scoops?

- i have to echo this gripe... it seems that *all* the vendors were out of a desired 109mm (and i was looking two months ago?)...
- i ended up buying a compatible DA bb from Chuck's for $10 less (he still has 'em), so i guess it was a good thing?
p.s. 22mm?

my guess would that it's last years model and they don't make them anymore. few months ago they were on clearance, and were a really good deal, so I bought two of them.

You should look at Phil Wood BB's. If they make the configuration you want, it'll be real nice stuff. bk

My bf just got one of these off of ebay, BB-6500, 68 x 109.5
User id: twelveicat
Item # 280112361974
It was $30 plus shipping, buy it now. The seller had 44 of them. Very fast shipping. I haven't looked to see if this seller still had some left.
I'm not sure if this is the exact bb you are looking for, but my bf couldn't find one anywhere else.

While there is nothing wrong with Octalink, or square taper for that matter. Outboard bearing crank/BB's have caught on big time. I believe that this is one part the mfg's aren't going to support for very long. Shimano didn't license very many others to make them either. That's why ISIS was invented. If your BB is bad try to replace the bearings instead of getting a new one. Good luck
