I have a new Windsor Knight. I have ridden apprx. 100 miles on it so far all together. The last two times I have ridden (18 or so miles) I am hearing a clicking sound from the rear wheel. The sound occurs every one rotation of the wheel itself (not the crank). The noise is only present when my weight is on the saddle.....it lessens when i lean forward over handlebars(but maybe i just cant hear it as well) If I pick the back wheel off the ground and spin it (no weight on it) there is NO sounds. If I lean my chest over the saddle (pushing down with chest) and move the bike forward then I can get it to make the clicking sound (which is at the same spot on the wheel all the time.

One other note--it doesnt matter how fast or slow you are going it still does it.

I hope i described this well enough

Any suggestions?

You may need to engage the help of another person to 'look' or listen closer while you do the pushing of the bike. just an idea... ... ... ...peace

Check for a loose spoke or noise from spoke rubbing where they cross.

You could try lifting your bike and spin the rear wheel, I think it would be your rear hub. The better the hub the loader the sound. Not to worry though.

How heavy are you? I used to have exactly this problem back when I weighed 370 pounds. I believe it was the spoke intersections creaking when the wheel was flexing

I'd put a drop of oil at every spoke intersecition every so often, and that would seem to help, but not totally eliminate, the problem.

I had a loose spoke that was making a clicking noise one time (this is at my current weight of #185). I tightened it up and the noise went away.

This link might help you diagnose the problem: http://sheldonbrown.com/creaks.html

Good luck!

Thanks for the link and info. My LBS is right across from work so I dropped it off. I bought a new saddle from them so they said they would check it out for free. I tried the oil on the spokes where they cross and that didnt help. May just need the spokes tensioned.

I am 200 lbs. I also did have someone listen as i rode...thats how i narrowed it down to something in he back.

Noises will drive you crazy....especially the ones in your head HAHA
