I'm with you. I've been a Kings fan for 15ish years. This isn't easy to watch, but I've braced myself for this day since the end of last season. Even I have to admit that they look damn good.

By the way, the Stanley Cup Finals is the series at the end of the playoffs. And the playoffs are what you play after the regular season. I know it's been a while.

Hockey is cool!

and the Red Wings did not make it to the Stanley Cup, so I am happy! (I love the Avalanche, and any team that kicks the crap out of the Red Wings)

I went out with this girl a couple of times that was really big into hockey.

big mistake was to root for the other team...seriously it was a big deal to her to cheer for the kings :D

I enjoy hockey though, awesome sport :)

Followed the Bruins when in Boston, then moved out here and it's like "what the heck is hockey".

I was a Kings season ticket holder for years before they moved to Staples. Much of my distaste for the Ducks ended when Disney got out of the picture and they took off that dumb "Mighty" part. Plus, I have a warm fuzzy for Scott Niedermeyer as I used to watch him play in juniors.

But I have a soft spot for the Sens as well, going back to memories of hot beavertails, celebrating Canada's gold medal in downtown Ottawa... and a chance hot tub encounter with then-coach Jacques Martin.

It's going to be a great series. Drop the puck already!

Even though I've been living in the Bay Area for the past 7 years (god, has it been that long?), I am still a die hard Kings fan. Stupid, you say? Perhaps. But then again, I've been a fan since '70, when Rogie Vachon was still playing. Yes, pre-Gretzky days. I still have not been converted to being a San Jose Sharks fan, and frankly, don't think I ever will.

I think my distaste for the Ducks was comparing my experiences watching a Kings game vs. a Ducks game. At least 10 years ago, when I went to a Kings game, it felt like a hockey game. The crowd wanting a hit every minute ... crowd chanting "Mighty Ducks suck, Mighty Ducks suck" ... as opposed to the Ducks crowd "Let's go Ducks!" ...

But that's all in the past. I have been following the Ducks more and more (I think it's that fair weather sports fan syndrome). They do play gritty, and like that a lot. I am looking forward to this Stanley Cup. I definitely prefer it to basketball. I'm in the minority there ... most chinese love basketball, but this abc hates it, and prefers the hip checking, open ice hitting, bone crunching checks on the ice. Plus, it's really exciting to see a skillfull goal ... prefer that to some silly monster slam dunk.

How typical. A guy named "Gretzky" rooting for the Ducks. Like, what do you know about hockey anyway? :p ;) :D

Yes. They all come from a small town called Niederville, Saskachewan.

The Cup is just a rumor for me as a long suffering Blues fan. I've seen World Series and Super Bowl wins, but I will not die happy until the Stanley Cup is hoisted in dear old St. Louis. That silver on the Cup would compliment the Gateway Arch in such a sweet way.... Sigh....

FWIW, I may have to root for the Sens, simply because the Ducks new uniforms are so freaking lame. Though it would be nice to see Pronger lift the Cup. Hmmm.... I'm conflicted.

Spingineer-

Add me to that small group of abc's who hate basketball and love hockey. Basketball is too damn boring for me...especially when they take 68 time outs in the last 5 seconds of a game. how lame is that? nothing beats playoff hockey....especially OT playoff hockey!

I know I going to sound like a righteous snob, but I have to admit that it physical pains me that a team from Anaheim is going to the cup final for the second time when the Maple Leafs have not been to the final since 1967 – 3 fricken years before I was born.

There is something wrong in the hockey universe when a team from So Cal…

ahhh must go take my meds.

Old Maple Leaf Gardens... now that was place to see a hockey game.

The old Chicago Stadium was great, too.
