So my girlfriend, myself (New York) and another couple (Chicago) are planning a week long vacation in August. I would love to find some sort of easy hosted bike tour to get her into cycling, something where the biking is picturesque, not too strenuous, and where we can stay in cute places. The idea is to seduce her into cycling with something truly enjoyable and easy-going. No hard-climbing, no 1200km BMB, no racing. My girlfriend is not that into biking and has grudgingly agreed.
August is bad to go to Europe generally, so that seems out. Thinking about Montreal as being close and convenient, but I know nothing about it really. May be willing to head to the Pacific Northwest (Portland, Seattle, or Vancouver), but really wide open (China and Australia are a bit too far to fly though... South America would be okay).
So I figure the people here have covered all of North America at one point or another and I am hoping to get recommendations and advice. Maybe a pointer to a bike touring company?
