Huh! #1, Ti-tillidie is just 20 years old! He turns 21 on Sunday...he's so cute and such a pup, I can't corrupt him. :o
Yes, he does look a bit saint-like in that shaft-of-light picture you took.
I can almost hear the cherubs singing...

Just an ad hoc ride, John. Care to join?? :D
If my schedule permits I'd like to.
FYI - for Chantry Flats from the Rose Bowl it's about a 100-120 minute round trip, not including sight seeing, or stopping for coffee and posing in Sierra Madre.

Yeah, it's not too long. The climb itself is only 3.5 miles or so, and from the RB to the picnic area and back is approximately 27 miles.

Sounds good to me! With a lap around the rose bowl, we can get an even 30. But I have to go early as I need to do chores in the afternoon. We could do a quick brunch after. Herb? Your thoughts?

Okay, well, I'm going to start a new thread to see if there are any others. Otherwise, I'll assume for now it is just John and me as takers. John, how early can you roll?

I'm pretty open in the morning but I wouldn't want to do any earlier than 8.

No, on Monday. I'm out of town this weekend, driving back from Pacific Grove late Sunday. So, 8am would be perfect John! :D George, can you/do you want to join??

Just saw a news report that says crews are still putting out hot spots and that can last another 30 days.
Between that and erosion control the park will be closed indefinitely....
What a bummer!!

Yeah, they'd love to get a little rain to finish the job, but too much rain and the hillsides will start to come down. Tough situation.

I guess all my recovery rides will have to be SO - RB canyons and back. More mileage for sure, but bummer...:(

Forget the GP ride! I need to go out scouting for a new posing location. A ride is not complete without it!

Wonder if there are any good posing spots at the Castaway in Burbank? Beautiful views up there. Can you sit on the patio and sip your coffee and pose up there?

Great suggestion......includes nice views too, after a nice climb. Flatland locations are fun too as I usually people watch for an hour.....but that gets old after a few weeks......:)
OK...this sucks...
I rode into GP this am to see whats what....yup..rent a cops at all the roads up....
What sucks is I see a bunch of hikers going up the horse trails between Live Steamers and travel town...with no one to stop them...they were all equiped for a serious day hike...
I also didnt see any horses...I am not sure how they would stop them either???
Rant Off

The problem with the Castaways is Harvard road to get there....too many nutty and drunk drivers on that road...
