Check it out, 10,000 feet of climbing over 105 miles of beautiful back roads of West Virginia

Only problem for me is it is the same date (Sunday August 19th) as the Covered Bridge Metric Century, something my wife wants to do with me. Info on that is at: http://www.lancasterbikeclub.org/cbm.php
This is a pretty big event - I think several thousand riders as opposed to hundreds in the Cheat Mountain Century.
Wow, I wish I lived closer, the covered bridge ride looks just right!
That does look like a pretty challenging ride. Most of the climbing is back loaded or in the second half of the ride as well. It's another long ride that has a long climb at the end. If not this year-maybe next year!

Dang! Makes my knees and legs hurt just looking at it.
BTW- Did a metric century today (did an imperial last friday). Took some big hills again, but warmer this time, mid 80's.
No dogs, No close calls, little wind. Ain't life Grand.
BTW- went through this covered bridge on my Imp. Century

I went through a covered bridge on my ride last night but didn't have the camera with me. I'll be sure to take it with me on the Covered Bridge ride in early June. We have 3 in my county and 7 in a neighboring county. If I did the 105 miles I could hit all 10 but I'm only planning on doing the 5 bridge tour. Southwest Ohio seems to have quite a few of the covered bridges left and many are still in use. A few were left intact but a new bridge was built nearby to carry the traffic.
Now I just hope we have nice weather the day of the ride.
