All,
I'm investigating an adult sized "trail-a-bike". I know I could purchase a tandem but I am looking for other options. All trail-a-bikes I have seen so far have an 85lb weight limit. I'd like to fit a 5'6" 130lb adult. Does anyone know of anything like this?
Thanks,
-P

No such product on the market. Yes, getting a tandem is the alternative.
I suppose a Tandem is really the tree I should bark up. I'll have to seriously research this.
Thank you!
The closest thing to what you are looking for would be the now-defunct Cyclemorph. (http://cyclemorph.com/)

It had a max rider height of 5'8" and max weight of, well, a lot. The market never materialized and they ceased production and marketing last year.
I have no idea if the numbers are still good; however, you never know as the Web site is still up. So, you might make an attempt to contact the business owner (Frank Schaefer, who has a BikeForums account under his real name) to see if they could offer any further insight into trail-a-bikes for small adults / large children. Contact info is below.

CycleMorph was neither a tandem nor a trail-a-bike. More of a Rube Goldberg creation than a marketable product. Not surprised it folded.

Funny how things can change over a couple years: adult trail-a-bike (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=99677)
Yup, met Frank at Interbike 2003 and we included his novel product in our write-up for Recumbent & Tandem Rider Magazine (issue 12, page 34: "Adapter: Cyclemorph") along with over 30 other tandems + related products we reviewed at the 3-day bike expo.
We recall he was the second owner of this 'instant tandem' product. Cyclemorph retailed around the $600 mark plus needed to be installed by local dealer. It was neither an adult trail-a-bike nor a tandem and Cyclemorph was a very appropriate name for the product.
Appeal/practicality/distribution/cost will soon sort wheat from chaff in today's fickle marketplace.
