Hello everyone. My name is Retzer, an immigrant from the Philippines. Four years ago I came to the US, had to start life from scratch. I mean i had no car for a while. So in 2004 i decided to get me a bike i could use to get around places. I had no experience in cycling at all. Somebody from the bike shop showed me the trek 5000, had no clue what bike it was, but i got it.
I was riding on the road one day and there was a female cyclist ahead of me. I tried to get close to her but she was just too fast for me. I was challenged! Then she stopped to answer her cellphone, so i went past her. When I got to a long climb, I tried so hard to go as fast as I can so she won't catch me... only to stop a few meters away to throw up. Men, that was so embarassing!!!
From that time on i keep myself fit. I got me a bike trainer and training DVD's from Chris Carmichael. My goal is to get on my bike trainer for an hour 2-4 times a week, or a short ride of 16mi 2-3 times a week, and a half century ride once in a week or two.
