I am looking for a new hardtail MB and I think I have it narrowed down to three...locally available and in my price range. I just need input/ help deciding which one. They are:

Specialized Rockhopper Disc

Specialized Hardrock Comp Disc
http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=22084

Trek 6000

I am a recreational rider and I mainly ride novice/intermmediate trails. I don't plan on hitting hard jumps or flying downhill....or at least not yet, but I want something solid, reliable and fully capable of whatever I might encounter...something I can evolve with as my skill increases....oh....and I want the most for my money! Thanks for your input!

You have got to ride them. Get the one that fits your body and riding style best. If there is a tie, the Trek is spec'ed better.

One of my friends got a Rockhopper recently, but we had problems with his SRAM SX4 components, had a hard time adjusting it correctly, and never shifted perfectly. He's having the "free" tune by the LBS, so we'll see if it has improved by next week when we hit the trails

Thanks for the input, guys. It seems a lot of riders here have had or currently own a RH....seems like a pretty good ride. Both of my current bikes are Specialized, so I feel comfortable with them, but I didn't want to rule out other brands. Locally, I have dealers that sell Specialized, Trek, Cannondale, Diamondback, Giant, Santa Cruz and Haro to name a few. I plan on spending a little time at the LBS...go on a few rides and decide from there....I'm kinda new to ATB's, so I was looking for opinions/ suggestions. Thanks a lot for the input.
