Since you posted the graphic I have a question about it. What does the TO, ON and OS mean?

I'm going to guess that they are geographic divisions, the starting point is near Torino?

Either Simoni, Ricco or Di Luca.
Totally LOVING the Giro this year! I agree with everyone else that, perhaps we're seeing less drug-aided riding this year. Of course, we won't see guys collapsing at the end of this stage since they have that long descent to recover on but still looks brutal.

TO = province of Torino
CN = province of Cuneo
OS = no idea, but it is in France, so perhaps it has something to do with the corresponding French region...

Was looking at that graphic earlier today and realized that the race will be climbing for 70K between kilos 30 and 100. Holy crap!!!
My prediction is Cunego.

There's still a lot to go, so I reckon it might be a day for a break to stick and the favourites to mark eachother. Could be a stage where people lose time rather than for anyone to put a gap into their rivals. Lets see if Di Luca can hang tough in the high mountains, or if Garzelli still has the legs. I don't think Salvodelli looks as strong as Simoni or Cunego, but that big descent right near the end should mean he won't lose time.
