Wow, I really didn't think drafting off of other vehicles mattered that much, but I got up to 39.4 mph on my touring bike drafting off of a double-length city bus to my left, a city bus in front of me, and a van to the right. What a rush! :D How fast have you guys gone drafting off of other vehicles?

It's a rush alright, but lack of vision is a problem when a pothole decides to make an appearance.

I've gotten up to 72mph going downhill drafting a mini-van. Visibility isn't a problem because you look through the back window and front windshield so you can see everything ahead. You also don't have to be directly behind the car, just 1-foot to the right of it will still give a good draft and you'll clearly see the road ahead.

50 mph, behind a Porsche 911, we both had a very fun ride down a very smooth hill.
I drafted a city bus once, the deisel fumes comming out of the tail pipe almost killed me.

I occasionally draft mini vans, SUV and such. Not so much for speed, but for the rest.

You guys are not going to get much sympathy from me if you ever get killed drafting motor vehicles.

I was biking on a decently windy day, 50 km/h headwind. Fortunately, I caught up to a tractor, and drafting behind it was awesome. Unfortunately, it was going too slow. However, it was going faster than me while not drafting. So, if I stay behind him, I go too slow. If I try to pass him, I'll go too slow because of the winds.

Decisions, decisions...

Wow! I've been chasing after dump trucks (long story...) but I've never considered drafting behind one...well, maybe.. :D

Ford Escape or Mazda Tribute (same vehicle, actually) is great for drafting b/c you can see right through. Same with a Honda CR-V or Toyota Rav.
