I just notice my rear rim (Salsa Delgado cyclocross) has several hairline cracks in it. Errrr!!

I run 32c tires and realy like that size so I want to stick with that. My LBS is suggesting a double walled Mavic. Do you guys have any other suggestions on what replacement rim I should get?

The bike is a Surly LHT with mostly Shimano deore components. I use it daily commuting and ride 4,000+ miles a year on it. The bike carries me (180lbs) and my junk (up to 30lbs) on those rides.

are the delgados 26" or 700c? you might ask this question in the touring forum, they have a lot of good advice on wheels strong enough for heavy loads.

I'll +1 your bike shop's suggestion. Mavic A719's are nice single hollow rims, and the A319's are triple hollow for extra strength (and weight).

The delgados are 700c. The Mavics the LBS said I should get retail for 65 bucks each. Would that be in the price range of the A719's?

As a side note the LBS guys are great. They were nice enough to loan me a wheel while they work on mine so I can get to work. I have a cosmos road wheel on there until they finish mine :o
