It is going to be a great Memorial Day Weekend of cycing in the Big D with crit races every day and lots of group rides. Is anyone planning on coming out for the PBA Memorial Day ride? Word is they are providing the meat but we need to bring a side. What U bringing? What is your favorite or least favorite dish to see at these things? I may just have to bake some cookies for this one. Ummm cookies and beer...

My friends are I are spending Monday scoping out the course for the October Texas Time Trials. We're doing the 24 hour race, so we need to get an diea of layout, hazards, etc. We want to come in well over 20mph average, so we've got some serious practicing to do!

I may come to the party but I won't be doing any riding this weekend. If I do make it I will play it safe and just pick up a vegetable tray or something. Vege's and beer:beer:
If I'm there I'll be on the bronze, flamed tandem and easy to pick out. Come say hello so I can put a face to the avatar! All depends on if I can get my bike out of the shop in time for the crits. Then I may be at the crits.
Was just at the PBA website last night but didn't see anything about this ride. I'll go see if I can dig up the details and get back to you.
[edit]: I may be in for the 40mi. We'll see.

I'm going to try to drop by (hopefully with the wife in tow) to put some names and faces together. In-laws are arriving tomorrow afternoon and will be here for the holiday... Who knows... Maybe they'll be up for a pic-i-nic basket on Monday...

I will decide on the morning of what distance I am up for. 60 DB pace is looking good.

What kind of pace and will there be any rest stops?
A) so what's a 'doc' pace mean in hard numbers? I can do DB pace, but don't think I have 60mi in my legs after so long off the bike.
B) If I ride, I'll be on this:

and most likely in my yellow BikeForums jersey.

DB pace is pretty relaxed. "Doc" pace can be anything. Dr. George Markus rides faster than DB but not OAS pace. His speed is very similar to the Saturday OAS lite pace, 18-20 MPH average.
If my shoulder is feeling okay, I may come out and do the 60 mile DB pace ride.

+1 Doc pace could be relaxed or kinda fast depends on his mood and the group. DB is about 17 I think with stops.
I plan to ride a short ride Saturday, a decent ride Sunday, so we'll see how I feel for Monday. That is if A) weather holds out and B) wife and I don't decide to go to lake Fork one or two of those days.
Maybe I'll bring the 'Cuda out and do the 25mi ride and just enjoy the day. ;)
