Hi all-

I'm new to bikeforums and to Washington, D.C. I was wondering if anyone knew of weekday afternoon cycling groups forming, where they congregate, etc. I'm looking for cat 3/4-types that race.

Thanks a million.

I'm sure someone more in the know will chime in about Haines Point where you can probably find riders at that class on a nightly basis. A local club has a huge variety of rides listed on their website as wel.

PPTC is the biggest group in the DC area, but there are many others.

Steelpot,
There's a regular group of 20 or so bikers who meet to do laps at Hains Point at noon during the week. I've only gone on Tues and Thurs, but there might be a group every day. These guys are fast, as in 25-30+ mph, so it sounds like what you're looking for. I think they tend to amass at the gate at noon and take off shortly thereafter. Lots of fun, and Hains Point is a wonderful place for bikers because it's a 3.2 mile loop with no lights, not much traffic, and great views.
