I registered my wife me and our daughter and her boyfriend yesterday, we are going to do the 30 mile cause I'm not sure if the kid or wife can do the 50 last year we did the 13 and it was a lot of fun so who else is doing this fun ride?

I'm thinking about making this my first organized ride. Has anyone done it in past years? Fun or not fun?

Its a really nice easy ride through the Puyallup valley. I don't know about the 50 mile ride if it has any major hills or not. I'm inclined to think not. Anyone out there know for sure.

There is a hilly section of about four miles, with a steep descent. The map shows a shortcut which eliminates the hilly part, making the course 46 miles instead. The hilly bit is shortly after Riverside Park. It looks as if it follows McCutcheon Road East, then cuts over at 128th Street East, returning on the new Foothills Trail section.

I'm not entirely certain that my husband will want to do the hilly bit, but if he doesn't, I will still do it myself. Being the very kind man that he is, he will probably wait for me at the end of the shortcut. At least the hilly part is in the first half of the ride!

I might come back over for this one. I have to check on my apartment anyways so I might be in town.

Thanks to East Hill, I'll be doing the 50 miler as well. I just did my first big hill tonight, the one here in Tacoma that goes from Titlow Beach, up 6th ave. Yesterday I chickened out on my way back from Stillacoom & took an easier hill. I recently started riding every day, but should be up to the task.

I hope I'll be able to meet a few fellow BF members at the TdP. I'll be riding this:

Look for the short redhead on the Rodriguez. My husband will be the tall dude riding either a blue Schwinn LeTour, or his yellow Trek 4300 MTB. I suspect he will go with the Trek--he loves that bike :) .

My guess is that we'll be there between 8 or 9.

Say Hi!

We are planning on 9:00. My 17 year old daughter is going to ride her green 72 Raleigh Sports that I had the wheels trued on and new spokes and rear 3 speed hub. My wife and I will be on Raleigh Cadent 2.0 I have a red rack bag on my bike she has a black trunk bag on hers. Hoping the rains will hold off.
