Hi everyone and anyone,

I've been viewing the mountain biking forum for about a month now. Thought I'd finally sign in. I mostly ride the downhill/freeride areas in my town. It's 2 miles from my house to the top of one of the sickest runs in Northern California. I purchased my bike back in April to help get me in better shape for my dirt biking. I never thought that I would end up getting so into it! I had no idea how great the riding in my own backyard was. Not tryin to gloat, just very stoked on riding right now. My wife is very happy that I've found another hobby spend a bunch of cash on :D

Take care.

Welcome from a roadie who lives just over the hump from you (and will sometimes visit for coffee, even if it means having to take Sharp Park to get home).

Hello from San Mateo! MTB'er here ... sometimes we go on the Sweeney Ridge trail up there in San Bruno. Some real nice single track there. :D

Welcome to the forums!

Thanks Chi. It's been a few years since I rode at Sweeny. Plan on going real soon now that I'm back into riding. I've also heard that Skaggs is pretty cool.

Where's Skaggs at? Is that on top of the hill at Skyline Blvd back towards Woodside?

Yes, that is where it's at I believe. Somewhere between 4 corners and Purisima I think.

According to my Krebs map --- San Francisco Peninsula and Santa Cruz Mountains --- I think you might be talking about the El Corte de Madera Creek O.S.P. at Skeggs Point. There is also a Skaggs Springs Rd. up in Sonoma County that goes over to Ft. Ross as part of the Terrible Two Double Century.

Ypu're absolutely correct SteveE. It's el Carte Madera Creek. I guess a lot of people just refer to it as "Skeggs". Sounded like my riding buddy was saying Skaggs (my mistake).
