I like Looks and run 3 pair on 3 roadies. To be honest I haven't ridden other brands but haven't felt the need to either. Switched around 1990. I think I only fell over once and it was in grass ;) Any clipless pedal can be expensive but my wife uses the Nashbar brand Look lookalikes and is happy and they're only around 30$ or so. I agree with others about the virtues of having some float.

I had a pair of those nashbar look-alikes, and they broke after 2 rides! I took it a part, and found that it was really a cheap piece of junk, after all.

Hmmmn

My wife hasn't been riding much as we're currently expecting a family addition:) Once she starts riding again I'll keep an eye on those pedals. I was going to mention in my first post that eBay is full of used Looks. I bought a pair once for +/- 30$ and am happy with them. In fact just got off them about an hour ago.

I just realized that this was a separate thread. I typed the first post as a response to Droche's thread about pedals. Obviously I pushed the wrong click somewhere. And I thought I was experienced with message boards!:p
