Advocacy & Safety - Cafepress message: "I don't share the road," with a car striking a bicyclist

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I wonder about people who encourage other people to do such actions. Opinions?
I feel like such a tattletale, I just sent a long email to the company explaining how the shop was breaking almost every line of their conent guidelines. This stuff really makes me feel kind of sick.
It sounds to me like someone needs to get laid.

Just sent this email to the company:
"Hi,
I noticed your "Stay the F*ck out of the road *******" merchanise. Two points:
1) These days, this counts as hate speech. Very unfortunate.
2) Perhaps the less enlightened think this is funny. As a cyclist I don't need anyone to provoke idiots to attempt to take me out when I'm out and about on my business, trust me. Most drivers are incompetent and selfish enough without any help.
I think you're letting yourselves down.

No they weren't pulled, the problem is that BF keeps messing with the URL because it has BullSh1t in it.

They need some BIG TIME feedback! Please call CaféPress at (877) 809-1659, Toll-Free, to let them know you find this type of behavior reprehensible, offensive, and irresponsible.
The message: "I don't share the road," accompanies a car striking a bicyclist. There are others:

Natural reaction to the exploits of the radical VC'ers.
'Serious' and 'competent' bicyclists are the biggest
obsticle to overcome right now.
I'm not a fan of VC either, but this Cafepress crap is uncalled for and incites violence against all cyclists. Let's maybe try to stand together on this issue.

Your an idiot. Sorry - this is the first time I've ever insulted someone on BF.
Not too late to delete this remark. It's out of line, and also against Forum guidelines. Please think about it. :)
edit--probably too late now.
This kind of thing really pains me, because so often we shoot ourselves in the foot by not presenting a united front when something like this happens. I agree with Lem that the strident VC philosophy has done a lot of harm in this regard. But it takes two to fight, as my mom always said. So let's try to put our differences aside when we can unite to do something that helps ALL cyclists.

There wan't be enough threads or enough said about this. We need to reach to every club and every customer of CafePress and their vendor "Fantastic Bull****" so that they stop doing business with them. Pure and simple.
Even better, let's order some of these items and return them, on purpose. After all, they have a "30 days money back warrranty": "100% Money Back Guarantee On All Products:
Shop from home with the comfort of knowing that your order is backed by a 100% Money Back Guarantee. This 30-Day Guarantee gives you plenty of time to check items for color, high-quality, and size for yourself, family and friends. If for any reason you need to return or exchange an item, just contact our Customer Service department and you're done!"
Yep we're done CP & FB, how much are you ready to spend processing thousands of returns?

Maybe I'll help you understand why my emotion got the better of me.
I cycle vehicularly. I believe it to be the safest way to cycle in my environment.
I also consider myself a very courteous cyclist, sharing the road with all users. I go out of my way to let faster vehicle pass me when safe. I communicate with many drivers. I work hard to get along with everyone I am sharing the road with. I get significantly more positive feedback than negative from other drivers.
Of course there are times I temporarily cause other delay. This is not due to any politics or unwarranted desire to slow anyone down, its purely because I value my safety over the ultra-convienice of others. (I say 'ultra' as the minor delay I may occasional cause is hardly inconvienient).
To then suggest that a vehicular riding style is the cause of such cyclist hate is absurd and totally inappropriate.
I think it has been made clear over and over again that vc or VC is not about increasing driver tensions - so when someone makes such outrageous claims and should know better I got a bit emotional. Appologies.
Another reasons I said what I said is that injecting that thought has nothing to do with the topic at hand, it was just a low blow. Especially since many don't even want vc discussed in this forum. That kind of behavior is __________
(I also have no idea what you mean by 'strident')

The original point of this thread is moot since the items have been removed.
Can lawkd or someone explain what is meant by "the strident VC philosophy has done a lot of harm in this regard".
Can we really not get past the simplistic and highly inaccurate impression of VC to mean wantonly riding down the middle of the road without regard to how we impact others when doing so?
