Just wanted to pass along this info for anyone who might be able to take advantage of it.

Santa Cruz Bikes is blowing out a bunch of 5th Element shocks (coil and air) for $99 ea! The hitch of course is that it's a limited number of eye-to-eye lengths and spring poundages; but if you need a new shock and any of these match yours for size you can't beat it with a stick.

My son got a Swinger 6-way last winter in a similar deal - - a good site to periodically keep an eye on.

I bought one of their 6 ways about a year ago. This asle is an evergoing one. They used to have ti coils for like 50-100 bucks. One catch though is that they are specially valved, so they wont feel good on say a fsr linkage. I bought a v10 valved onefor my faith (both vpp style), and it feels pretty damn good.

Old news but constantly being renewed . . . and not necessarily on everyone's radar. That's why I shared it.

"Sale Shocks are unused and sold as is, no returns or refunds are available."

Just an FYI, I've had some REALLY bad experience with the 5th Element Air:

http://www.santacruzbicycles.com/catalog/images/5thAir.jpg

My first (on a S/C Blur) went bad after about a week. The second then failed, and I sent back for a rebuild. The rebuilt shock lasted about 1 year and then the rebound quit working. I called Progressive about paying for a fix. They said that they would only "service" the shock for $125 - no fix! Gee ... thanX. As far as I know they've quit making this shock, but I'm not 100% sure. Does anyone know?

Anywho, I've since purchased a new Fox unit. I've not much time on it yet, so I cannot comment on the long-term durability.
