I got swiped last night by a car and my B17 took most of the damage. The leather is badly scuffed and one of the rails are bent. Can I do anything to bend the rail back into place?

I took a list of all the skus our Canadian Brooks supplier has awhile back - they listed replacement rails and rivets, so maybe there's someone in your neighbourhood that can hook you up if you do some research.

Unless you deeply love that particular saddle, I would just get a new one.

if it was a model with steel rails there's a good chance you can bend it back ok..
clamp it in a vice and get some leverage on it..

you've nothing to lose if it's not rideable now

apart from nutsack/ladyparts when the rail fails because of fatigue in a couple of thousand miles?

ok i guess i forgot steel has a terrible fatigue life and is rarely repaired successfully

I'm not sure if this should be in another thread, but...

If a bike gets damaged by a car and the driver is at fault is that driver legally responsible for the damage?

If so have him bend them back for you or buy you some new ones.

^Have him bend it back for you? I can picture some hick with a Nascar hat, flannel shirt, and sunburnt arms grunting as he tries to bend it with his fingers, as you stand by chuckling. This occurs on the dirt road he lives on, right beside his truck that's worth more than his dilapidated house. Hahahaha.. I love my imagination.

Yeah, I think it should be a new law or even a consitutional amendment.

Amendment XXVIII

No driver who hits a bicyclist shall get away scott free, less he make an attempt to bend the wheels himself. If he shall see for himself how frustrating fixing broken parts would be and fails he shall then purchase the rider a new fixed gear.

Think it'll pass?
