All true, George. But, IMO, and based on so many of your posts, somewhere along the way (or perhaps just recently), you've lost sight of what it was like when you weren't placing in the top. Know your audience and how to speak to them. Be competitive all you want, but don't demand that riders (like me - who doesn’t care where I place) compete. Need I remind you of your "piece of humble pie" comment you made awhile back to me in a post? As if Brandy and I are competing - which I can assure you, I'M NOT. Somehow, you see this community/forum as a place to mostly grand stand. The few times you've posted in a supportive manner and offered advice are certainly valued. But as a coach and someone who worked hard to get to where you are, how about trying a softer approach? Again, I'm only on here this morning stating my views, because you alluded to a comment in a post of mine as being "crap."

I'd like to know if you truly believe you are the voice of So Cal Bike Forums? Do you truly believe that the majority of the people here think like you? I believe you are in the minority ( you have your fans) but you are the only one complaining. So get over yourself...stop watering down other people's acheivements and don't reply to my posts. I will ignore you from this post fwd.

Wow, all of you need to get a grip and STFU!

If you want to complain, whine and moan use PM's cause I don't want to see it.

George, I'm not the voice of So Cal, but I think you may be mistaken thinking I'm the minority. And I find it interesting that you have nothing to say back regarding your comment about my view and post (and actually, you didn't call it "crap" - you called it "BS") . Apparently, you deem it perfectly fine to call my view BS, but how dare I post anything back? As for watering down other people's achievements, that is just silly. As I've said repeatedly, ALL of the riders who rode KOM should be congratulated for their achievement.

+1,000,000,

I know all three of you, and you all are great people, as are all of the people that I've met on this forum. We each come to this forum with our unique personalities. I just sit here and enjoy most of the posts, we have our own quirks (Right, OVO?). Maybe its because of my advanced age (55), if something offends me I ignore it, it is not worth the energy to respond to it.

But I do feel that when you need to "complain, whine or moan" as Extort put it, use PM's, I get tired of reading about the dirty laundry.:( :( :(

Fair enough, Lee. And I usually use PM, but I don't feel I'm whining and moaning. I responded to a comment made about my post from yesterday. I've had enough and spoke up. As for being told to Shut the **** up - people can choose not to read the posts if they don't want to - but that's a crude and unnecessary way to put it.

People do. Some people choose not to read whole subforums also.

This was an awesome ride, and an incredibly diverse series! :D

Even though all three are climbing centuries, they had very different profiles: one with several very steep climbs (MC); one with essentially one long climb (BA); and one sort of in between, with long climbs at the beginning and end (HH).

The terrain and scenery was also very different on all three rides (even within the same rides).

Oh, although I can't complain about the weather (no rain!), I found it interesting that at two points (very beginning of MC, and the beginning of the final descent of BA) I was FREEZING, and it was scorching for the heartbreak hill climb.

Looking at the final KOM listing, BF is extremely well represented. We accounted for, I think, 15% of the women and ~10% of the men. Great job to all riders, and everyone else here for the support!

I have no quirks, I am perfect in every way, judging me is philosophically incorrect.

To judge something that is perfect is to assume that you know what perfection is. As St. Anselem used to prove his theory, the thought of an object can never reach the perfect object in reality. So thus to only think and assume of someone that is perfect would prove that your thoughts and ideas of perfection are less than that of reality. Thus, it is very hubris to judge me and my perfection.

I can post links ,but it would only further prove my perfection which is unnecessary.

Wow, lots of BF reps! This forum is by far more motivating than the other forums I've visited. To see the riders getting out there and actually doing the rides. I've always thought about the TC and now the KOM. Just might have to get back into riding form for next year!:D

Very studly performance, VM!
I was looking at the list and frankly, I wouldn't know who was who unless they had their BF moniker in parens next to the name! Your name, however, was pretty easy to spot.

I also looked at the women's list and saw some that were "F" and some that were "F/T".
WTF? At first I thought... "Hmmm. Trannnies?"
Then I realized **DOH!** ...tandems! :D :D :D

Thanks Joy! And that is exactly why I wish we had a gallery with everyone's names and photos. Although, I guess that would make it even easier for the stalkers *cough*ovo*cough*. ;)

As for the trannies... er, nevermind... last time I got myself in trouble by mentioning "the tuck". :p

I'm tired of there being dirty laundry Lee. I hate, hate, hate that so many of the results/ride report threads end up exactly in this same place lately. I'd be happier to deal with this in PM's, but it's hard to not respond once someone has put it out there on the forum. Either way...I went from being happy about my accomplishments to feeling like total **** yet again and it sucks.

Situations like this make me question what my place at So Cal BF is. When so many threads take a turn like this, I wonder if it's worth it to make an effort to be a part of the community, particularly when I attempt to reply calmly when I'm called out in public and I'm then told by other members to STFU. I don't know...

I also liked this series very much. I set of goal of trying to ride all three events in under 20 hours. I set a goal for 8 hrs for MH and 6 hrs each for BA and HH. I missed my 8 hr MH goal by two minutes, but had a rear flat and know I can crack 8hrs if I do this again. I beat my 6 hr BA goal by 8 minutes – probably my best ride of the year so far.

I really was not close to the 6 hr goal for Heartbreak (missed by 11 minutes). At my current level of fitness I would be hard pressed to beat 6hrs for this event. Maybe if the long second climb was not so hot, I might be able to shave off some time.

Overall, I was pleased with my results. I missed the 20 hr combined total by just 5 minutes. I will probably do these events again next year and see if I can crack (better yet “”smash”) the 20 hour mark.

  So much latent anger. Who knew? Phil seems like such a nice guy too.

I guess the emotional scars left by the Evil Clown at Phil's 4th birthday party run deeper than anyone expected -

Did I scare you when I tapped you on the back as I went by you? It was fun seeing all the BF peeps out there. Every time I passed someone I would either pat their back or call out their BF name. I even saw VerticalBob out on the flats before CP2.

GP You need to strap a camera to your handlebars and when you see someone snap a shot. The only thing is all the shots will be of their behinds:) Maybe I'll try that, I need to get a cheep camera though.
