What is the difference between the solid high flange hubs and the ones with the cutouts? I ordered a rear fixed/fixed through the co-op a while back [shop prices, can't complain] and when I got it today it was a solid flange. I acually like the solid flanges, I was just wondering if there is a difference.

aesthetics and weight. can't say for sure but I doubt the cut outs affect performance/strength much.

i never knew they made solid flanges... i've only seen them with the cutouts. I love the look of solid flanges and the practicality/bang for your buck element of formulas. any links or info on where I can get some?

The high solid-flange Formula hubs have cup-and-cone bearings. The relieved flange hubs have cartridge bearings.

I've been wondering about the quality of the cup and cone bearing models. Please post a report. Hope this helps.

The bearings are very very smooth and I acually thought they were cartridge. I am a fan of cup and cone anyway.

Edit: Since it has cup and cone, it is NJS approved right? ;) ;) :lol:
