Still with the small Paternina team, but for the years to come Jose Antonio Pecharroman seems to be the man for TdF glory. After winning the Bicicleta Vasca two weeks ago, he now won the Catalunia Tour, smashing USPS Roberto Heras in a 13km time trial by 52sec, Santiago Botero being 3rd at 58sec.
In the final standings Pecharroman has 43sec on Heras and 3min 46sec on Gil.
