What do most people use?

RHD, it's easier and usually cheaper.

Most people use RHD. LHD is only really a good idea if you run pegs on the right, and mess up your sprocket. Even then, most smaller sprockets nowadays prevent most of that from happening.

LHD, reasons stated above. It's no more expensive than RHD

Why can't you just put the hub on the other way?

(I think) Hubs are threaded. If you tried putting it the other way, you would strip the threads.

I think it would crank weird because it would be made to crank for a RHD and then on LHD you would have to like pedal backwards

You could just run the cranks backwords. It's not the best idea, but it works.

Yea if you are gonna go through all that i would just buy a LHD.

Won't work backwards, the pawls would be engaging on the wrong side, aka, you would have to pedal backwards. Cranks do work the other way round but the pedals are the wrong way round and loosen

if you get a shadow conspiracy hub they are reversable (pawls can be switched). pretty cool idea. also, if you run profiles you can just get a lhd arm for it to work. you dont want to reverse the cranks because your pedals will constantly come loose. I think older odyssey cranks came tapped with both arms.
