So I'm in central Cal I suppose, but there is no Central Cal forum. I've been lurking in this forum since it was created. I planned on driving down and joining in on a ride, but then quit riding for a while last winter.
Well, I'm back on track and basically building miles with the goal of attempting a century before the years end. It wasn't too bad to do 38 miles on both Friday and Saturday, then 22 today. Probably do 20+ tomorrow. But, I've been getting some shoulder pain after a couple hours. I'm not sure if it's the jersey is a little tight around my arms and shoulders, or I'm getting fatigued. I'm also starting to wonder about the fit of my bikes again. I have a 61cm Pedal Force RS and a 60cm Cross-Check. I'm 6'2" with 34" cycling inseam. I test rode a 58cm Tricross the other day and it fit pretty good. Maybe miles in the saddle will cure all.
So if you've read this far, all I ask is an "atta boy, keep at it".

atta boy, keep at it! :D
BTW, we do have a few posters here from Bakersfield. I don't know if they post in the No Cal forum, too.

Sounds like you are definately back on track! Great job and YES, go ride w/the SoCal group, they are wonderful! :p ... or you can drive north and hang w/the NorCal group as well... we're okay as well ;)

Welcome, Relayer. :) And, no, I'm not just going to offer you an "atta boy" - although good job getting back to it and your plans for a century by year end! I say you're close enough to join on both So Cal and No Cal rides and are more than welcomed. You're around Spooktacular grounds and I'm sure a BF crowd will be coming to that one. So, stop lurking and join in! :D Also, I think DanteB is up in your neck of the woods. He's a very strong, friendly rider - great guy!

Yeah I ran across some of his rides on motionbased. I might join the Kernwheelmen and go on a few rides. I remember when you So Cal'ers were first gathering for some rides (October?), now you guys are doing doubles and climbing mountains like goats! :)

There was a gaggle of us leaving from the Frazier Park area yesterday. I can see some future rides in that area (when does summer end again?)

Good to hear you're riding again. To me fatigue seems like the sholder would get tired without pain. Maybe the pain is something else. Could be from just staying in the same position. Try moving your hands to different places on the bars occasionally.

Welcome to So Cal forum, relayer. Since everyone else has said "atta boy", I won't. I would consider Bakersfield more Southern Cal, especially since one of the affiliate Dodger radio stations is in Bakersfield. You couldn't have a Dodger affiliate in Northern Cal .. :D
I actually spend more time in SoCal than in NorCal, and I live in NorCal ... but I consider myself a SoCal, having lived the first 35 years of my life in LA Area (Pasadena, Monterey Park, San Gabriel). So it really doesn't matter which forum you post in ... as long as you are a cyclist, it really doesn't matter. So far, they haven't kicked me out of SoCal yet ... and I hope they don't ... :p

Yep, doing that. It might be a weight distribution thing...too much weight on hands.

No one really ever gets evicted from So Cal, Ron. You'd have to steal someone's Garmin, pretty much, to warrant eviction.:D

Still on the Garmin kick, eh? Do you want someone to steal your Garmin?

Yes, and leave $300 in its place. :D

Ask Tracy about her adventures with her Garmin on yesterday's ride ...

I think your closer to SoCal then NorCal, but you can ride either one. Glad to hear you’re back on the bike. Do you ever ride the bike path in Bakersfield? Sometimes I think it’s my second home, oh I must be from Bakersfield. Be careful with the SoCal people, they have some characters down there, just humor them. They think we are flat and have no hills until they do the Spooktacular. Just kidding, the SoCal people are a great bunch you can’t go wrong with them (they might lead you down the wrong path, but they have fun doing it:D ). They even have a spy infiltrating the NorCal ranks, you know kind of a wolf and sheep’s clothing. If you want to do some riding drop me a PM, I work afternoons so I usually ride in the mornings and on weekends.
I'm also a lurker from Bakersfield. I lived down there before moving up here. Relayer, DanteB, you want to get together sometime for a ride?

Get out a ruler. It looks to me like you're in the southern half of California.:D

Welcome!!
I'd be up for a Mtb ride by Kernsville.
Was up in Bakersfield a week ago and wish I had made the drive farther up past
lake Isabella for some good riding.
Do you do Mtb also or just Road?
