I am in the market for a new mountain bike and am really undecided on waht to get. I could go for a sweet hardtail, or a decent full suspension xc bike. i would love for yall to give me yall disadvantages and advantages to each. also, any brand and/or model ideas would be appreciated. the cheaper the better, but i would go up to around 1000 bucks.

For $1000 you'll most likely be better off with a hardtail. Something along the lines of a Specialized Rockhopper would be a great place to start looking. There are many opinions on what bike is best but it all comes down to what you like and what feels right.

Yep, just go out to a bike shop and test ride the bikes.. thats really the best advice you can get... start around the $500 range and move up...
