I'm trying to see how many SoCal'ers may want to do this century that's done in the peninsula in the Bay Area. I did the metric century last year, and it was a lot of fun. It starts at the race track at Bay Meadows.

 I'm flying to TN on 6/30 and back on 7/6 to visit my family. Otherwise I would have driven up and flown out of SF. Damn. :(

Are you going to take your bike with you?

No, my dad (sweetheart that he is) is bound and determined to buy me a bike to keep in TN. It would be a TREK hybrid (7100) - one like the bike he just bought himself. I'm so afraid he's going to get hurt, but, sigh, he wants to ride (he's blind in his left eye ) Anyway, I told him NO. So, I may just use his bike or my sister's bike (he just bought her a trek). So, I will have a bike to use. It won't be Patsy, but that's okay.

That's so cool. At least you'll have some bicycling to do there. I would hate to see what happened if you had to go one week without riding

I had to go 2 weeks without cycling when I went on a cruise with dad.

Oh, I've gone without cycling when traveling back to Fried-Chicken land. I immediately gain 20 lbs. Not kidding. I step off the plane and my thighs swell to the size of stuffed neck pillows and my two double chins triple. It's as if my body just knows what's coming: fried lard with slabs of butter and a glass of cream. :p
