Has anyone had any experience with Clark's brake pads? I found some at an online bike shop that appear to be a good value:http://www.bikepartsusa.com/product_info.asp?f_c=Brake&f_c2=Brake+shoes&cp=1&p=01%2D90368
I was wondering if these were some rim eating monsters like the Tektro units they will be replacing, or if they give good performance. They come with black and red inserts. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance for all replies.

I know for a fact that Kool Stop pads work beautifully. I'd just get Kool Stops if I were you.

+1........I was in a shop once and a guy GAVE me some Clark brake pads, they reminded me of Tektro's. In other words, not good. I used them for one ride. Go for Kool Stops, it's money well spent-

I liked them when I had them. Made in my hometown though, so I am completely biased. Man, I ride a Dawes, and wish I had a Rover. Guess where I was born!

Thanks to all who replied. I've had experience with the Kool Stop pads, and like them. I am trying to outfit several older road bikes with improved pads, and thought that these might be an affordable alternative. I do like the cartridge pads though. They are easier to service and look better, I think

Does anybody have any experience with the quality of the cartridge pad holders on these? Even if the pads would have to be replaced with Kool Stops, these are still a fair value for just the holders, if they are good quality. I've had experience with the Tektro pad holders, so if they are comparable in quality to those, they're good enough for me. Thanks again.
