Just had one of the best rides ever. Got the four-year-old excited about a rail-trail ride on the Trail A Bike I bought last fall.

15 mile roundtrip with nothing but giggles and "whee!"s and wow's. Snack breaks at the Durham Bulls stadium and mommy's school (teacher workday? don't get me started.....). Four wooden bridge crossings each way, rattlerattlerattlerattle. We even bumped into a co-worker and his wife who were trying out their new hybrid bikes.

It felt like a day from "The Truman Show." Sunny skies, lots of shade on the trail, happy cyclists, many also with kids, happy roller bladers, happy joggers (now you know I'm exaggerating a bit LOL). Just a great day to be on the planet.

Anyone else building a touring kid today, I wonder...?...

Many thousands of thanks to those who have fallen wearing the US uniform, so that we can enjoy such a magnificent day.

Regards to all.

Excellent stuff. I'm off on vacation in August to Austria. One of my plans is to drive to Bodensee (lake Constance) and cycle some of the bike trail with my four year old daughter in tow. Hope it turns out as well as yours.
All the best.
