Foo - Where do people get those cool long pillows/pads from?

So, I'm a guy. I know not of these things like pillows and stuff.

I've seen these but don't know where to get them. They're not for sleeping on per se and are pretty long. A lot of times you'd see them on a bench. Some are round and can fit along the head of a bed or maybe along a bench that's along a wall. I want one with a cover that's washable and looks cool in a patterned color of darkish green. But I also need to know the dimension (I'm building something and want to fit it).

Where do you get these things???

My wife bot one at Wally World when she needed it after wierd surgery. Dang thing is always in the way now.

I'm building a hamper/shoe rack/bench with a swinging top - figured I could get one and put it on top.

I got mine in Paris. A great company called....damn I forgot.:o (I'll tell you when I get home, I think they ship, and have an infinite amount of slipcover w/ zippers).

I think I know what you mean, Air. The only way I know of to get a stiff roll or bench cushion is to find someone who does custom sewing for draperies and upholstery and have one made. I believe some department stores still do this. You should be able to find a decent price for one in Manhattan.

Oh I've heard of them - got a link from their site? I didn't see any on either one.

Donna - I was thinking of that as an option, have a few friends who sew and wouldn't mind some extra cash. Would have to find a pattern I like and something that maybe could be zippered - either one isn't too hard, plenty of fabric stores a few blocks away. Think there are some foam stores too believe it or not!

What type of fabric do you think would be good in terms of being really durable, and nonporous (I'm thinking spillage)?

I'd go with heavy jacquard or damask (plenty of colors/patterns to choose from - not all of them floral, I promise!) Then I'd make sure that the covers are removeable so you can wash/clean them if necessary. The other advantage to that is that sooner or later the padding will break down. A good quality jacquard or damask fabric should last longer than the cushion itself.

Then again, I'm not a disposable sort of person about the home furnishings that I do not find on a curb somewhere. :)
