Hello Everyone,
With a free schedule this week, I was finally able to get in a 108.62 mile week. Not bad for a fat guy! My goal for the summer is to get in a 150 mile week. We will see about that later on. My rides were as follows:

Mon. - did not get to ride
Tue. - 11 miles
Wed.- 20 miles
Thu.- 22 miles
Fri. - did not get to ride
Sat.- 33.8 miles I was looking for 40, but the trail ended sooner.
Sun.- 21.82 miles

I rode about 3 or 4 miles around with my son today, but I did not count that as logged miles. Some people do it in a day, but hey, I have to start somewhere. Best -

From the looks of things you should be ready to push a 40-50 miler/3hour ride and start doing 30+/2 hours regularly. Just remember it really is not so much the distance but the time on the bike. Determine what effort level/pace you wish to set your ride at and do it for 1,2 or 3 hours. The things you cannot factor in like wind will affect your output so on windy days I forget mileage and just worry about time.

It looks like you are spending about 8-10 hours on the bike a week so good job. Me and Samantha will have to try and meet ya out there one day.

Thanks everyone! I took yesterday off, I'll probablly do about 25 miles when my wife gets home. My legs feel pretty good today. I was a little sore yesterday. I don't want to over do it.

Sam,
I haven't a clue about where/ how to start a training program. I just get on and ride. I've worked up to a 20 mile daily, or 4 times a week anyway, and that doesn't hurt too much. Best -

Sam is right, it's the time on the bike that is the killer. you are doing a great job!
