These are the derailleurs I've got on my Iron Horse Warrior 3.3:
Front - Shimano SIS (I know, I know. Wretched things won't even shift!)
Rear - Shimano Acera (Decent)

I've concluded to get Alivios on both ends. Now, overall, are the Alivio's any good? And will my shifting on the rears be a little smoother than the Aceras? Shifting while standing lacks fluidity sometimes.

I mainly do XC and light DH riding.

Also, if I get the Deores instead, will there be any significant difference?

If i were you I would think that such a small upgrade from Acera to Alivio isnt worth it, just go straight to Deore... Then again I'm not you...

Ok, what about compatibility? I'm reading up on these dual pull front derailleurs, and I'm wondering if they'll work with the current set I have.

XT stuff at jenson is super cheap right now and I'm more than happy with the XT stuff I have.

You shouldn't really be shifting while standing. Well, it's not necessaily bad if it's done right, but if you are driving the pedals hard while standing, no derailleur will shift smooth. If you are shifting while standing, you shouldn't be pushing on the pedals hard, but just rotating the cranks until it shifts, then go hard. Not sure if that is your problem or not, but you won't really be able to shift under hard load smoothly with any derailleur.

I'd at least upgrade to Deore if you think you need an upgrade though as Deore is still a fairly good price.
