Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. What about Bar Ends in a Flat EC90 XC BAR?
Is it possible?
Or I will hit the dirt?
Thanx

You can put bar ends on just about anything, but why would you? They add weight, make it more difficult to maneuver, and add ALOT of danger, either to you, by catching trees or impaling you, or to pedestrians as you bike by.
P.S. This will probably invalidate my entire arguement by ruining my credibility, but they look stupid too.

Sorry, but your argument was already invalidated with the impalement comment. Thanks for playing.

The Easton web site states that the EC90 XC is not compatible with bar ends.

yeah, you'd have to twist your bars 180 degrees to impale yourself with bar ends. Only have to twist them 90 to impale yourself with regular bars. If anything, the bar ends might reduce the tendency to get stabbed by the bars when at 90 degrees to the bike.
If you're talking about the bike and/or you flying and colliding, then you're just screwed and bar ends will not make anything better or worse.
But it's important for your bars to be bar-end compatible so you don't crush your bars.
in other words, listen to Peek.

I was just going to add that, I sure wished I had bar ends the other day when I stabbed myself in the chest with the end of my bars. I was gasping for air on the side of the trail for a few minutes. Some of those stubby little bar ends would have spread the impact nicely.
Barends + dork discs = Schnizz!

take a look at the UCI world cup XC races. LOTS of those guys run barends.
personally, I love them. The provide a much better hand position for climbing and allow me to really pull on the bars. I use the small kind that goes forward and backwards on the bar and love them.
I use ritchey wcs flatbars, which can be used with barends.
