It just doesn't work well, of course it's the wrong clamp size as I took it off another bike. I put in metal shims so it'd clamp down, I've had no end of trouble adjusting the damn thing. I can't get smooth shifting no matter what I do. My friend who I've never seen not be able to adjust a front derailler, can't even get it working nicely.

I think I'll go get an LX or XT FD and forget this.

Paint it pink, that'll fix it.

Send it to me. I know I won't have any trouble making it work perfectly.

Just get some shims and set it up properly.

Yep, that'd be the thing to do. Don't forget to put your negative review about the X.9 on Hollywood blvd...lol

I had an X gen on my C'dale, and now an X7 on my Santa Cruz(only because it's one of the few top SRAM's that are low clamp) and have/had no problems with either, with the proper shims.
Maybe it's not adjusted right or you need the correct shims..or both

I did. It works perfectly now.

Thanks everyone.

I've got some x.7's and they work pretty well. Only problem I've had is that I had to replace the entire RD shifter when the upshift plastic thing broke from a fall. That was pretty annoying. One tiny plastic thing and I had to replace the shifter.

Definitely. And the FD is where the most crap gets collected after rides.
